The Day the Earth Stood Still

in 1951 a movie was made. "the day the earth stood still." it was about the human race destroying the planet earth and a council of beings from other worlds decided that in order to save the planet, the race needed to be destroyed and allow the planet to heal...  1951... this movie was remade in 2008 and i just watched it for the first time a few days ago.  why is it that we had a sense of this in 1951 and are in the situation that we are in as of 2009. over fifty years have elapsed since the original version of the movie and yet we have continued on this path of destruction... something to think about....

  1. Because we all want to believe that it is someone elses problem to fix. Rather than doing everything we can as individuals to make this a better place to be. :-)
